I also have a feeling that one of my regular half assed attempts at giving up the fags may be about to happen. If it does and you see me out and about with a cigarette in my hand please feel free to point out that I'm supposed to have quit. Just don't be offended when I turn around to face you with a feral gleam in my eye and scream "Fuck off! I need this to stay alive!" :-)

The 'couple a day' during the week is not a problem. The problemis the amount I smoke when I go out drinking. And the only way to stop myself wanting a fag when i have a pint is to cut out cigarettes completely.
By the way, what Swedish resarch do you mean?

Today they said that smoking as few as three cigarettes a day can double your chance of a heart attack.

But don't pay too much attention: your chance of having a heart attack could be 10,000:1 ...would it worry you if it rose to 5,000:1.

In the same vein, we used to tell newbies in the laboratory that people who drink out of laboratory glassware usually die. Some of them still don't get that one.
