First Band: The Wonderful Allstars
Sounded like the Pixies crossed with The Killers except without being in any way good.
Second Band: They Drove Me To It
Were the band with my friend on lead guitar. After the first band I was expecting to have to force a smile and pretend to be impressed. Fortunately they were actually rather good. Basically really strong female vocals over heavyish rock type guitars whilst managing to keep a definite pop sound. A lot better than most midweek bands in a small local venue. Apparently they have a single out called Zeroes to Heroes that you can download here.
