Distributed Denial of Service Attack.

Basically flooding a server or IP address with 10000000's of pings a second taking out it's connection.

Done usually using scripts run from a central point.

True. Although the term geek has been almost totally hijacked by the techie types. These days if you describe yourself as a geek everybody assumes you work with computers. I feel very sorry for the legions of ignored science, role playing and Dr. Who geeks out there :-)
