Feb. 2nd, 2009 07:07 amSo, all buses are suspended, a lot of the underground isn't running and overland trains are a bit of a mess. Getting into work is going to be interesting.
Update: Well, it turns out that I can't get into work. All the stations near me are closed. I just texted my boss and it turns out he is also incapable of getting in. I think I may just take today off.
Further update: Have been told to take the day off by my boss. I'm going back to bed and then snowmen and suchlike later :-)

Dec. 5th, 2008 09:25 pmTime for another entry in an occasional series called "Zeke digs out old albums".
I'm currently listening to the Stone Roses album by the Stone Roses (to be precise I'm listening to
elevenwords CD of it as I still only own this as a taped copy that I've had since I was 14).
I've not listened to this album properly in years and I'm thinking that this was a rather big mistake. This was one of the earliest albums that I really fell in love with and it is still just as wonderful as it was all those years ago. In particular Bye Bye Badman is just amazingly cheerful and upbeat whilst at the same time being nasty in a glorious way. So go on, dig it out and give it a listen :-)
Also, this is clearly the Call of Cthulhu.

Oct. 30th, 2008 09:55 pmAfter meaning to see it for years I finally got around to watching Shadow of the Vampire. I can happily report that it is a really wonderful little film with a splendidly deranged performance form Willem Dafoe. Definitely worth a watch.

Oct. 20th, 2008 12:28 pmStill in hospital. Horrific nightmares, lack of sleep and the truly impressive fever i had this morning combined to make it clear that the medical staff were trying to kill me. Bad brain.
Have just finished another dose of iv antibiotics and am feeling slightly better. Looks likely that i will be in for another couple of days.
