I also have a feeling that one of my regular half assed attempts at giving up the fags may be about to happen. If it does and you see me out and about with a cigarette in my hand please feel free to point out that I'm supposed to have quit. Just don't be offended when I turn around to face you with a feral gleam in my eye and scream "Fuck off! I need this to stay alive!" :-)

The best way to stop never start in the first place.

Seriously you will end up replacing one vice with another weather that be sex, food, drugs etc, or my favourite caffine.

Good luck, although I have been told using the patches and gum is a waste of time. As one person said the only way they work is if you roll them up and smoke them.

Obviously this is true. Unfortunately i don't have a time machine.
As for the best way to quit, I truly believe that there is only one effective technique (For me anyway). That is to give up the fags completely and rely on willpower to get through it.
