Glowsticks, tedium and 16 year old boys.

Yesterday was spent pottering around Camden with [livejournal.com profile] faerierhona. Amazingly I managed to not spend any money (except for the meal in Wagamama's and the drinks in the Dev, but nothing apart from that:-)). After much pootling about and many attempts to persuade me to go cyber we ended up at the Dev. Where we met up with [livejournal.com profile] brenin_llwyd,[livejournal.com profile] eeyore46, [livejournal.com profile] sheridanwilde, [livejournal.com profile] cyberpunkgrrl, [livejournal.com profile] untermensch and the wonderful Sandy. Things rapidly sank to the level of the gutter as glowsticks were deepthroated and nipples were observed. Pretty much business as usual really :-)

Today has been spent at work. It has been long and rather spectacularly tedious.

Tomorrow could be interesting. My boss and I are going to a school careers fair in Wimbledon to try and persuade impressionable sixteen year old boys that biomedical science is cool. I have a horrible feeling that I will struggle to keep my cynicism in check...

1. What do you call me? or What do you think of me as?
2. What song makes you think of me, and why? or What would be my theme tune?
3. If you could give me one present, what would it be?
4. What one thing/event do you associate with me?
5. How well do you think you know me?

*tilts head* i would say it was good for people who know they like biological sciences, but don't think that they want to go for one of the specialised disciplines. on the other hand, studying it made me realize that i did not want to be a biomedical scientist after i graduated. ick. no.

Each to their own I guess. I was originally a molecular biologist and prefer being a biomedical scientist.
I think the major problem will probably be getting them interested in science at all.

Oh well have fun convincing the kids to do science. You could go with the bio/chem option and tell them this will give them the ability to build weapns of mass destruction (sorry only iraq is doing that at the momment).

1. What do you call me? or What do you think of me as? - Mark! Occasionally Zeke if there's too many Mark's around

2. What song makes you think of me, and why? or What would be my theme tune? Temple of love *grin*

3. If you could give me one present, what would it be? LOTS of neon clothes! And make you wear them!

4. What one thing/event do you associate with me? Ummm... dunno....

5. How well do you think you know me? Not very well at all. We have a laugh, we get on, but we haven't spent enough time togethert to say I know you that well.

I can think of far worse things to have as my theme tune. Now I just need to arrange for it to be played every time I enter a room :-)
And of course there is the question; Did you mean the original or the '92 remix?
