That was a very good gig.
Time for a quick update on the last week. To put it simply the course is boring me. I was hoping that it would provide an intellectually stimulating break from work, and so far it has completely failed to do so. I'm sailing through the tests and quizzes without bothering to fully activate my brain, and *still* getting top marks. I'm really looking forward to starting my Masters, hopefully that will stretch me.
On the bright side I read 'Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas' and 'A Clockwork Orange'. 'FaLiLV' was simple entertainment and a good portrayal of being under the influence :-)
'Clockwork Orange' was more interesting. For some reason I found the story itself to be rather predictable, but I loved the language. The Nadsat talk had a real flair and simplicity which appealed to me. So overall an enjoyable but in some ways unsatisfying book.

I can't seem to wake up today. I've just floated around in a pointless kind of daze. This is crap, I need to get motivated and do something. Life is far too short to waste it moping about and complaining. I think it must be time to raid Avalon's bookshelves and try to find something to read, then later I think I will watch the movie of 'A Clockwork Orange' and see how it compares to the film. If I manage to get really motivated I might even start to write the essay comparing 'A Clockwork Orange' to 'Wasp Factory' which is floating round my head.

I know I've asked before, but has anyone got any book recommendations? For that matter any recommendations for interesting things of any kind would be appreciated :-)
