Oct. 24th, 2004 11:46 pmI have had a really rather lovely weekend. Have suceeded in doing very little and taking great pleasure in doing it. I have manged to watch an enourmous number of movies in very good company. Highlights being House of a 1000 Corpses and The Gift. Both of which I enjoyed far more than I had expected to and both of which deserve a more detailed write up. Unfortunately I'm far too tired to manage this. The Gift was made truly remarkable by featuring Keanu Reeves doing a passable impression of someone who can actually act :-)
Much thanks to
_exitwound_ for making it all so much fun.
Edit: Just remembered something that bugged me about the Gift. In the film the main character is a psychic who uses cards to do readings for people. So far, so ordinary. What intrigued me was the fact that the cards she used were Zener cards (you know, those cards from the opening scene of Ghostbusters). I've never come across these being used as a divinatory tool before and am curious to know whether this is just something dreamed up by the films directors or if there is any history of the cards being used in this manner. Yes, I know I could do the research myself, but I'm tired right now and figured one of you would probably know.
Much thanks to
