Ultraviolet

We just finished watching Ultraviolet. As I rememberd it is absolutely brilliant. 'Tis a crying shame that they only made six episodes :-(

Oh I KNOW - I hate that they didn't make more or that the blatant love of it will not revive it (it worked for Roswell, damnit!). I loved Ultraviolet so much.

Unfortunately after four years it unlikely there will ever be another series, dammit!

Yeah, I know. It ended on such a good note, too. I loved the science of it and all - it was brilliant.

I think that might be why I like it so much. You so rarely see fiction with even vaguely believable science. For once I could sit back and enjoy, without feeling the need to pick holes every five minutes.

Yes, I know, I loved the scientific parts to it, rather than just vamp mythology they had vamp physiology and genetics and the synthetic blood and the nuclear winter - it made it so much more interesting.

Small but perfectly formed.

They would have probably ruined it if they tried to make another series.

That could well be true. I'll just have to cherish what they did manage to produce :-)

Excellent DVD got a copy in the last HMV sale.

The plot and mood were inb keeping with the entire genre.

The problem is that this series was based largely in scientific fact. The researchers asked people in the police and intelligence communities waht could be a response to this knid of thing. This together with some of the best script writing channel 4 has ever made produced a very dark and absorbing tale. They never romanced or popified the story (compared to Buffy, Interview with a Vampire etc), so the public never caught on.

They also never used the word 'vampire' in te entire series, which could have confused a stupid person.
