Jude slipped on the stairs earlier and made his nose bleed. Not really a big deal, but for a couple of seconds when I heard the thump of him falling followed by his scream I thought my heart had stopped beating.
I haven't really got anything else to say. I suppose I was just shocked by the strength of my reaction.
Oh My God I'm A Parent!

Date: 2001-12-30 04:47 pm (UTC)Myself, Spyder and The Child was visiting
In the space of time it took her to fall approx. 5 steps (it sounded like she was coming down from higher initially), I'd sprinted the six or so steps across the livingroom I was in, sent Spyder flying across the diningroom I'd run towards while using him as a brake for my 90 degree right turn, had my feet go out from under me as I turned - and yet still managed to land on the floor (now winded) just as The Child was hitting the floor too and hold her.
Now *that's* what you call a parental scramble ;)

Tell Avalon to be nice to the cat! She's so lucky to have one! My landlady won't let me and I'm allergic to them (wasn't 5 years ago!) but want one anyway, and will have one once I can.
I just can't snuggle and cuddle it the way I want to :-(
But be nice! Kitties ROCK!

Date: 2001-12-31 02:16 am (UTC)The cat in question is Molly AKA our first kid. We rescued her from some horrifically abusive owners when she was only a few weeks old. That was when we were together first time round ie about 3 years ago.

I'm a total cat worshipper, they just rock.

Date: 2001-12-31 02:03 pm (UTC)Except for my cat Gizmo, who has recently taken to crapping in peoples shoes :-(
Re:
Date: 2001-12-31 02:06 pm (UTC)Oh dear - my uncle and aunt had a cat named Gizmo!
Gizzy! A big fat black and white silly girl of a cat who hides under the covers and seems to think her ass is smaller than it actually is.
People's shoes, huh? Gross.
