Last night I took a trip to the cinema with my usual lovely companion for such excursions. We saw Van Helsing. What can I say? I enjoyed it a lot more than Underworld. Mainly because Underworld tried desperately to have a proper plot and failed. Van Helsing on the other hand avoided this problem completely by having absolutely nothing resembling a proper plot. Van Helsing compensated for the lack of any plot by throwing in more gratuitous action sequences than I ever remember seeing in a film. It is a good thing that I don't have much of a purist mentality regarding faithfulness to source material, because this film managed to include Dracula, Dr. Jekyl/ Mr. Hyde and Frankenstein/ Frankenstein's Monster without paying even the slightest regard to the original novels.

Overall, it was quite an enjoyable bit of nonsense for a Sunday night. No brain required, just sit back and go 'ohhh, pretty!' at the special effects.

I think that this one may be even more of a complete load of arse than normal. Despite me answering every languages question with a strong negative it still suggests that I should be a translator...

Well I can see you working in research but you do that at the moment. Can't say I can really see you being a teacher or a environmental lawyer though!

It would appear that they pick up on the things you don't want to do & suggest them to you. I guess there's a few on the list that are vaguely accurate but I don't know that any of the really appeal to me.
