Doing time in the 'Nam

I'm shattered. I've just got home from Oxford and I feel sore all over, plus I'm slightly worried that I've pulled a muscle in my thigh.
Anyway Cheltenham. Myself, Avalon, Jude and Avalon's mum arrived at about 2 and proceeded to meet up with Big Chris and drink tea. We rapidly turned Big Chris's office into a bedroom for Jude through the use of a couple of screws and some curtains, this important task completed we proceeded to chill out and chat. Not long after we were joined by the inimitable CJ, who launched into a discussion of psychoactive drugs interspersed with ponderings on the flammability of WW1 biplanes and geeking with Avalon. CJ is the only man I know who frequently carries on three or more conversations simultaneously.
As the afternoon wore on we mooched into the town in search of food, Hellblazer graphic novels and porn. Sadly only the food was located.
We spent the evening back at Chrises in the company of Lloyd, Ben, Kali, Alex (no not
diffrentcolours, another one), beer and the film 'Mystery Men'. An entertaining time was had by all and much rubbish was talked about role-playing and sex, so business as usual really *smile*. Much to my surprise Jude went to sleep, in his makeshift room, at 8:30 and was not awakened by our drunken ramblings.
As I expected the goblin child woke us up at 6:00am. He proceeded to amuse himself by playing with me and Chris whilst Avalon grabbed a few more hours sleep.
We watched 'Shrek' this morning and stuffed ourselves full of tea and toast. Eventually Avalons mum arrived to take us back to Oxford. It was just as we were leaving that Chris mentioned that we could help ourselves to the huge number of videos left over from the closure of his shop. This led to us spending an hour plundering his collection and taking possession of large amounts of Anime among other things. I was particularly pleased to find a copy of 'The Wickerman', a film I love for the fact that the Witchhunter gets burned at the end by the cheerful Pagans *Grin*.
The loot was loaded into the car, barely, and we waved a sad goodbye to the 'Nam. I'm sure we will be returning soon, especially as Chris has promised us free run of his Shed (home of the Shoggoth and the rest of his old stock).
A quick journey back to Oxford via a lovely pub for lunch, the aforementioned vigorous sex and a farewell that was only just not tearful brought me back to Croydon. Oh well another weekend over and back to work *mope*
I would just like to take a moment to apologise to Chris, I hope we didn't inflict any serious structural damage on your shower *smiles sweetly*.

Date: 2001-12-17 11:29 am (UTC)Ah, children have such simple pleasures. 50p for a chocolate bar...?500 for a great DVD player and new shoes.
